#ENRIITCyourCoffee S5E3: "The Neutron Quality Label (R): European effort towards harmonisation of neutron strain results towards industrial exploitation"
This session will cover the scope and results for establishing a Neutron Quality Label (NQL) in Europe through the BrightnESS² Project. Particularly, the assessment of positioning uncertainties has been addressed at ISIS, FRMII, ILL and NECSA. It will take place on Thursday, 05 May 2022, from 15:00 to 15:30 CEST.

How can collaboration between European Research Infrastructure and Industry make the difference? Among the European scenarios, there are several case studies of successful cooperation between RIs and industry that demonstrates the extensive impact that these collaborations can have. In this edition, we present Samtack's collaboration with ALBA!

ALBA
ALBA is a 3rd generation Synchrotron Light facility located in Cerdanyola del Vallès, (Barcelona), being the newest source in the Mediterranean area. It is a complex of electron accelerators to produce synchrotron light, which allows the visualization of the atomic structure of matter as well as the study of its properties.
|

Samtack is a manufacturer of glues and adhesives specialised in the sector of graphic arts and packaging. Samtack developed a new flexible multilayer system, in collaboration with the University of Zaragoza and the Complutense University of Madrid, that contains Selenium nanoparticles and is capable to increase food shelf life. Samples studied at ABLA provided Samtack with very valuable information to improve the synthesis of the new system.

Instruct R&D Call Now Open!
Instruct regularly publishes calls for small scale pilot research projects in integrated structural biology. These allocate resources for a limited number of pilot studies funded to a maximum of €15,000. The call is open to researchers in Instruct member countries, and all proposals must include the use of technologies available at Instruct Centres or develop technologies that will benefit the aims of Instruct-ERIC. The deadline for application is Friday, 29 April 2022!

Astronomers discover largest molecule yet in a planet-forming disc
Using the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) in Chile, researchers at Leiden Observatory in the Netherlands have for the first time detected dimethyl ether in a planet-forming disc. With nine atoms, this is the largest molecule identified in such a disc to date. It is also a precursor of larger organic molecules that can lead to the emergence of life

INEUSTAR is among the ENRIITC Associates who participated in our call and were selected for funding! "Unique Science and Technology Infrastructures - Opportunities for collaboration and supply for the Spanish industry in the areas of particle physics, fusion and astronomy" will be the first event where RIs in Spain belonging to the Big Science sector will come together to share their strategic plans for the upcoming years.
