THE SAVE ADOLESCENTS FROM EXPERIMENTATION ACT
Louisiana House Bill 570 would prohibit certain procedures that alter the sex of a minor child surgically or chemically.
Currently over one thousand minors receive gender affirming care at clinics across the state of Louisiana. 100% of the clinics and doctors treating these patients accept Medicaid; Louisianians’ tax dollars are being used for these treatments. When these practices fail to solve underlying mental health issues of children, the state of Louisiana will be burdened with funding a lifetime of healthcare for children who had otherwise healthy bodies.
Many factors must be considered when a child suffers with gender dysphoria. Recent studies have shown underlying causes such as, excessive social media use, untreated mental health conditions, autism, and a history of sexual or psychological abuse to be some of the co-morbidities present in children with gender dysphoria. The current unethical care being practiced on minors in Louisiana are not backed up by any sound scientific data to prove that puberty blockers, cross sex hormones, and surgeries on minors is beneficial. We do not know the long-term effects these medical practices will have on children.
Gender affirming medical care of minors is highly unethical, is a blatant disrespect for the sanctity of the human body and should be stopped. Please show your support for HB570 to stop children and families from suffering needlessly after undergoing such dangerous and unethical medical treatments.
We owe it to the children of Louisiana to offer proper medical care and support, not unfounded medical intervention resulting in a lifetime of costly medical care.
For the bill to pass in the 2022 session concerned citizens must voice their opinions. Support of this bill is critical if we are to stop the well-funded trans rights activists and lobbyists from continuing to override critically important bills to safeguard our children.
