Dear Friend of St. Peter's Kitchen,

This will be my final letter to you as I retire from leadership at St. Peter’s Kitchen. I am humbled and honored to have been the Director of this beautiful organization for the past 18 years. My first four years with Sr. Barbara Kuhn was the beginning of a much longer run than I ever imagined. I had expected I to be here for five years and now after 21+ years, it’s hard to imagine being anywhere else.

How did these past 21 years go by so fast? It has truly been a graced time. I pray we will always have trust in the higher good for each person and continue the spirit of service that makes St. Peter’s Kitchen all it has been and all it will be as we move forward toward our future together.

THANK YOU for all your time, financial backing, spirit of brotherly and sisterly love, care for this organization and, especially, prayers. None of the longevity and service would have been possible without each one of you. It is said “We are all actors on the stage of life” and I cannot thank you enough for playing your part in the “St. Peter’s Kitchen Production” over this part of its run. I pray you continue your role as an ongoing player for as long as you are able.

As I prepare to slowly “let go” of all that has been, I am thrilled to introduce to you our new Executive Director, Kelly Finnigan. Kelly has been in the non-profit arena for many years and comes well prepared to take our mission to its next phase. More information will be forthcoming soon.

As we celebrate our 40th year of service, I am sure our founder, Fr. Richard Czierwin, SSCC., never imagined the Kitchen would grow to be all that it is today.

Due to generous donations, we served 55,000 meals last year, including two meals a day and bagged lunches on weekends. In addition, we collaborated with Reach Homeless Emergency Shelters providing lunches, breakfasts and limited dinners through the winter months. We weathered two years of Covid, not missing a beat, and now we prepare to serve our community even better with this leadership transition.

We do this for one goal: to make the lives of our human family, a little better, healthier and more connected and in turn to have our own lives become a little better, healthier and more connected as our community shares their lives with us. And it’s all orchestrated within the light of our great Source of Love, who is the Father of us all.

My deepest and sincerest gratitude,

Patricia D. Lorenzen
