Prayer

Use this call to worship as a way to begin council/committee meetings, or as a prayer for yourself and/or your family. (source: Thom Shuman on Lectionary Liturgies

Where shattered hearts are made whole,
where wounded souls are healed,
where life is stronger than death:
there, the stone has been rolled away.

Where the lonely become our friends,
where a stranger is welcomed home,
where hope is stronger than despair,
there, we find Jesus walking.

Where closed wallets are opened,
where the anxious find serenity,
where love is stronger than hate:
there, Jesus is opening our eyes.

The stone has been rolled away!
Jesus is our companion on the journey!
Our eyes are opened to the needs of others!
Alleluia! Christ is risen!
Alleluia! Christ is with us!

For Congregational Leaders

2022 Summer Sermon Series

For the third summer in the row, ELCIC Bishops and Assistants to the Bishops are coming together to provide a series of sermons available for congregational use from June to September, 2022.

These resources will include text (Word and PDF versions) and video (High and Low resolution) files of the sermons for each week. These are downloadable files that may be used as part of your congregation's worship in whatever way works best for your context.

Sign up for these resources today! Not only are they great to use if you need to cover vacation leave over the summer but they are a wonderful way to introduce members of your congregation to our Bishops and Assistants to the Bishops from across the ELCIC! We also know of many congregations that are making these resources available even on the weeks when they are doing their own preaching.

To access these resources, please click here to complete the form.
