Seniors
The May 1st admissions deposit deadline is rapidly approaching. It is important that you are working on making your decision of which college to attend. Participate in admitted student programs (in person and virtually), talk with current students, consider the financials, and make campus visits. Withdraw other active deposits you made for colleges you do not plan to attend. Decline the offers of admission at the colleges you do not plan to attend. (This can be done on most application portals.) If you were waitlisted and remain interested in the school, accept the spot on the waitlist and send an email to the college restating your strong interest and the reasons you would like to attend the school. Juniors
As the end of your junior year approaches, make sure you are working on the following.
1) Request two academic letters of recommendation. Occasionally, a third letter of recommendation may be appropriate - speak with the CACG folks or your school counselor to discuss this option.
2) Finalize your resume to date - check in with Nataly Lambert if you have not already.
3) Begin work on your Common Application.

5) Do the work to develop a list of colleges that makes good sense for you - utilize research books, websites, virtual tours, and campus visits. Click HERE to learn about 13 college admissions myths that have been debunked.

Sophomores
If you have not already, now is a good time to begin creating and executing your standardized testing preparation plan. It can be very helpful to take mock tests, which can help you determine what standardized test might be best for you. Please ask the CACG team if you need help locating good practice test options!

Make sure you are taking time to reflect on your year to date and consider how you would like to finish up this school year. Review your time management and organizational skills. Do you need or want to make changes next year? It's a great time to set goals for 11th grade!
