As for previous conferences, the local conference website will become your main resource for the full program and practical information during the event. Important updates are coming soon, but you will already find key information about our conference venue, transportation, accommodation, and a preliminary schedule of the conference, so you can organise your trip to Paris.
Covid-19 disclaimer
It was decided early on by the EuroSEAS secretariat and the French constituency that the EuroSEAS 2022 conference will be organized as an on-site event, noting that we would shift toward the hybrid option only if the French authorities imposes strict restrictions for on-site participation (i.e. limitations of the allowed number of participants, heavy restrictions on borders). According to the current situation in France, we are confident that the on-site event is possible. Read more.
For panel conveners: please confirm panelists!
In order to be able to make the session schedule, we kindly but urgently remind panel conveners to confirm approved paper proposals (list of names panelists and paper titles) to the EuroSEAS secretariat (the deadline was 1 April) as soon as possible before 8 April: euroseas@kitlv.nl.
Please ask your panelists to pre-register first. Final registration & payment can be done later, but before 15 May 2022. The sooner we have the confirmation of panelists, the sooner we can provide the session schedule. Please find information on (pre-)registration here.
Important deadlines
8 April 2022 (extended, deadline was 1 April): Confirmation approved paper proposals by conveners to EuroSEAS secretariat: euroseas@kitlv.nl.
*After 15 May 2022 it is still possible to register and finalize the payment if you wish to join the conference without presenting a paper (spectator).
PhD Masterclass 2022
In connection with the upcoming EuroSEAS conference in Paris-Aubervilliers from 28 June-1 July 2022, EuroSEAS organizes, in cooperation with the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS), a masterclass for a limited number of PhD students from European universities who work on Southeast Asia in the field of the Humanities and Social Sciences. The masterclass will take place on 28 June 2022. Closing date for submissions: 15 April 2022.Read more.
Book prize 2022
The European Association for Southeast Asian Studies (EuroSEAS) will award two book prizes at the 12th EuroSEAS Conference in Paris-Aubervilliers, 28 June-1 July 2022: 1. The EuroSEAS Humanities Book Prize and 2. The EuroSEAS Social Science Book Prize. The closing date for submissions is 15 April 2022. Read more.
