Join me for a fun-filled evening!
At Lawther-Deer Park Prairie
Saturday, April 23 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
1222 E. Purdue Ln., Deer Park TX

Greetings <<First Name>>,

I would LOVE to see you at “Twilight on the Prairie!" our hoedown at the fabulous, remnant Deer Park Prairie on Saturday, April 23rd. We will have a live Bluegrass band, grazing food, libations, strolling and prairie viewing from our new boardwalk, and ME in a prairie dress!

Come in your prairie / cowboy attire, toast the sunset and join the fun.  Endangered wildlife is a concern for all, so in honor of the Attwater's Prairie Chicken, we will be booming on the boardwalk. We will also be honoring Katy High School’s AP Environmental Science teacher Dr. Rhonda Burrough. And join the RAFFLE to win a new Kamado Joe Classic 18” BBQ Grill, tickets are only $25.

I have been busy this past fall and spring with student field trips, teacher workshops, adult programs and tours, and preparing for a statewide Teaching the Prairie Workshop. Your participation in “Twilight” will help me continue to enlighten more folks about our incredible Texas prairies.

In addition, NPAT is partnering with Parker Elementary in Houston to build our FIRST school pocket prairie: the Parker Pride Savanna. I recently shared the wonders of prairies and laid the groundwork for the project to 268 fourth- and fifth-graders at the school. The theme ties the ancient prairie to their neighborhood. The teacher, Ms. Quiocho, said that great class discussions followed the student presentations. Prairie programs were also delivered to more than a dozen teachers, the school principal and the PTO (Parent Teacher Organization).

Come to “Twilight” and support NPAT’s Lawther-Deer Park Prairie Education Program while having a great time! If you can’t make it, a special donation to education would really help.

Hope to see you there!

Della delivers teacher workshops, virtual and classroom student prairie education, student field trips, presentations to community groups, and so much more. “Twilight” could provide over 25% of her funding to continue inspiring thousands of students and adults this year about our prairie heritage. But we can’t do it without you!

Can’t make it to the party? You can still support our education program at texasprairie.org/donate-for-education.

We are so grateful for your many years of support to NPAT and prairie education. Hope to see you on the 23rd. It’ll be fun!
