H2-Aero Symposium & Workshop

The 1st H2-Aero Symposium & Workshop is being held this week, March 29–31, in Long Beach, California. The stellar final agenda is a "Who's Who" of the aerospace industry, hydrogen and fuel cell industry — as well as representatives from local and national governments — will be there. The H2-Aero Team is leading this first-ever effort in the US to bring together the community to decarbonize aerospace! The H2-Aero Team has the vision of first creating demonstrations and later hydrogen hubs, together in a public-private partnership (PPP).

If you haven't signed up already it's not too late! In-person and virtual registration is still available

The Symposium will feature top executive keynotes from Airbus, H2Fly, Plug Power, Universal Hydrogen and ZeroAvia, as well as presentations from experts in government and industry alike, and will be a historic first step to capture the international state-of-the-art technology advances in hydrogen for aerospace.

The afternoon of March 30 is the H2-Aero Team workshop, a forum for face-to-face open discussions to accelerate the progress of the whitepaper, the decision matrix for a common fuel and roadmap to a PPP. On March 31st, VFS will also have tours of the nearby Shell Long Beach Heavy Duty Fuel Cell Truck and Hydrogen Station, with hydrogen transport tube trailer trucks, H2 fuel cell trucks, H2 fuel cell cars and the hydrogen refueling station on display.

Don't miss this landmark event! Check it out and register!

Next webmeeting: April 11

Mark your calendars: The next webmeeting of the H2-Aero Team will be held on Monday, April 11 at 9:00 am PT / 12:00 noon ET. We will be discussing the results of the H2-Aero Symposium & Workshop in Long Beach, California.

H2-Aero Team Regular Schedule: The second Monday @ 9 am Pacific / 12 pm Eastern Time is the regular meeting time for the H2-Aero Team. The next meeting will be on April 11, using Microsoft Teams. Copy the MS Team meeting link to your calendar or download the .ics file to import it into your calendar.

New vision for H2 in air mobility

The vision of the H2-Aero Team is to create a white paper deciding a common fuel per use aviation case, with a roadmap for a partnership between industry and government creating a PPP towards first demonstration and later scaling hydrogen for this application.

Industry Feedback Requested: We are looking for your participation & feedback to solidify the H2-Aero scope. One milestone needed is to get industry input towards the scope and related to the status of the technology and a workshop towards establishing a framework document. Please attend the H2-Aero Symposium & Workshop and participate in our monthly H2-Aero Team webmeetings!

ICYMI: H2-Aero Kickoff

In Case You Missed It: The Jan. 27 Kickoff of the H2-Aero Vision was a groundbreaking meeting in San Jose, CA, with aerospace, fuel cell and hydrogen experts. It was a start to a new initiative in the US for the decarbonization of aviation, powered by green hydrogen. You can view the full minutes, presentations and documents of the Jan. 27 H2-Aero Vision meeting HERE.

The H2-Aero Team & H2eVTOL Council

As we face impending irreversible climate change, aviation is one of the most difficult transportation sectors to decarbonize. We began to address this challenge by forming the H2eVTOL Council to learn about hydrogen fuel cells and their applications within aviation. The H2eVTOL Council has been holding educational webinars for nearly two years and continues to meet on the third Monday of each month.

The H2-Aero Team, a project-based team with deliverables that include both Hydrogen-eVTOL and Hydrogen-eCTOL (fixed-wing), meets on the second Monday of each month.
