MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:    1 Corinthians 1:18
For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing,
but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
Holy Week Worship Opportunities coming!
Palm Sunday, April 10 will be a joyous service as we recall the entrance of Jesus into Jerusalem.  As we remember the manner in which the city welcomed this Savior, we welcome Him into our church and our hearts with an anthem from the Adult Choir, “Lord of our Hearts He Will Be,” by Stan Pethel.
Maundy Thursday, April 14 7:00PM we’ll gather in the upper room to hear the words of institution and be a part of the Last Supper of our Savior Jesus Christ and then gather together “The Table Set for you.”  Adult Choir will be bringing special music to our worship.
Good Friday, April 15 noon & 7:00PM In words, prayers, songs, and brief messages, we’ll gather beneath the cross to witness the innocent, bitter suffering and death of our Lord, Jesus, The Christ to prepare our hearts to return on Easter Sunday, anxiously waiting to hear the good news of the resurrection.
Easter Celebration Worship, April 17, will begin in the Sanctuary with 8:00AM and 11:00AM services, with musical offerings by the Adult Choir and Handbells.  Easter Breakfast is 9am ‑ 10:30am and our Egg Hunt for children is at 10am.  Remember to extend invitations to family, friends, and neighbors.  Praise Band in the 11:00AM Modern service. Come and celebrate the joyous resurrection of our Savior and King.  Christ is Risen! Alleluia!  He is Risen!  Indeed!

Everyone deserves a healthy home!

Red Feather partners with American Indian nations to develop sustainable solutions to the housing needs within their communities.

They partner with homeowners, community members and tribal partners to:

  • Repair and weatherize homes
  • Demonstrate how housing conditions impact health
  • Conduct home assessments
  • Assemble professionals, volunteers, and material within the community and outside to address the most urgently needed housing needs

Today there are over 1 million tribal members residing on American Indian reservations, 40% of whom live in homes that do not meet federal standards for “adequate housing”. This compares to just 6% of the rest of the US population living in substandard housing. These conditions can exacerbate and even cause chronic health conditions, making it difficult to be productive at work or school. Not having a healthy home is a root cause of  numerous problems that put a strain on community resources.

The Red Feather Weatherization program provides free, energy saving services to low-moderate income families living on the Hopi and Navajo Reservations who are Arizona Public Service customers in order to reduce their utility bills and improve the comfort and health of their homes.

Services provided under this program included:

  • Insulation of attic, walls, and/or floor
  • Repair broken windows and doors
  • Repair damaged drywall
  • Air sealing including weather stripping and caulking
  • Installation of water saving devices
  • LED lighting upgrades
  • Minor roof repair
  • HVAC repair or replacement
  • Energy Efficient appliance swap outs

Hope's Happenings

New visit opportunity at The Table on Delk: http://thetableondelk.org/index.html on Saturdays from 11:00am to 1:00pm.  Our idea is to distribute prayer shawls.

The sex/human trafficking industry in metro Atlanta has grown to nearly $300M annually.  These women, men and children are being forced or trapped into a lifestyle where their lives don’t matter.  They feel that they have few or no choices and most see no way out.  The impact on their lives and the lives of their families has generational implications. The volunteers at The Table on Delk want to help end sexual exploitation in Atlanta.

Please continue to submit your requests for a Zoom visit via the following methods:
  1. Complete the ‘Hope Comfort Dog Request’ form via this link: https://forms.gle/8oknB7haY7VLGgtE9.  When a request is submitted, the information is sent directly to my organizer’s phone.
  2. Call the church office at (770) 973-8877 to set up a visit.  Janice Schaag and Susie Glass are excellent sources for getting this information to my group.
