Vi presentiamo il logo del XVII Congresso AIMC che si svolgerà a Ravenna il 10-11 ottobre 2022 nell'ambito della Biennale di RavennaMosaico. La mostra/concorso Opere dal Mondo, la mostra dei soci, l’assemblea generale e la cena dei soci sono eventi che accompagneranno il congresso e che sono ancora in fase di definizione.
In questo numero troverete anche i mosaici luminosi di due soci onorari, Verdiano Marzi e Felice Nittolo, una poesia di Tomas Hajek, una mostra collettiva ad Atene, le ultime foto della mostra delle mascherine volanti a Paray le Monial e l'ultimo annuncio per due eventi internazionali in Italia e in Germania.

Dear members and friends of the AIMC,
We present the logo of the XVII AIMC Congress which will take place in Ravenna on 10-11 October 2022 in the context of RavennaMosaico biennale. The competition/exhibition Opere dal Mondo, the members’ exhibition, our assembly meeting, and of course the members’ dinner are some of the events which will accompany the congress and are still being defined.
In this issue, you can also find the luminous mosaics of two honorary members, Verdiano Marzi and Felice Nittolo, a poem by Tomas Hajek, a group exhibition in Athens, the last photos of the flying masks exhibition at Paray le Monial, and the last announcement for two international events in Italy and Germany.

Viaggio dell’arte del mosaico attraverso il mondo senza contatto
Alla nascita dell’arte del mosaico contribuivano da sempre i principi
della pittura, della scultura, dell’architettura e della propria mosaicistica.
Questa arte è una sintesi sostanziale, perciò può rianimarsi
e raccontare del proprio viaggio attraverso il nuovo mondo senza contatto.
Per ogni connessione è necessario un contatto,
dunque nel mondo senza contatto la sintesi è impossibile
e per questo l’arte del mosaico è profondamente prevenuta contro di esso.
Ebbene, nel mondo senza contatto, nel cielo al posto del Sole
pende una grande ombra rotonda, che però splende come il Sole stesso,
racconta l’arte del mosaico. E non solo che splende con una luce visibile,
ma trasmette anche i raggi invisibili attraverso l’uomo,
quindi dentro di lui si vedono tutte le suo ossa – e tutte le sue tessere.
Pilgrimage of the art of mosaic through the contactless world
The art of mosaic always arose from the principles
of painting, sculpting, architecture and mosaic making itself.
This art as the essential synthesis can come to life
and tell the story of its pilgrimage through the new, contactless world.
As contact is fundamental to any interconnection,
synthesis is impossible in the contactless world.
The art of mosaic is thus deeply opposed to this world.
Instead of the Sun, in the sky of the contactless world
a large round shadow shows, shining like the Sun itself,
as the art of mosaic tells us. Besides glowing with the visible light,
it also sends out invisible rays that shine through people,
making visible all of their bones – and all of their tesserae.
