The grill is open to prepare food from 5-9 pm that night and if it fits your schedule, come in and have supper. They have a variety of sandwiches (Ole Burger, Lena Burger, etc) and pizza to order.
The SON are not charging us for the meeting space, so it would be great if we could support them by ordering some food or drinks that night. There is also live music in the Troll Lounge that evening if you want to stay around to enjoy that after the meeting. Hope to see you there!

Join us for this free webinar filled with photos, stories, special reports, histories, maps, and more as we learn about the Icelandic people who came to Manitoba. Even the Norwegians know their ancient history because of an Icelandic author of long ago. Learn about Viking history, old Icelandic Sagas, and even J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis, too. We will discover other areas outside of Manitoba which were settled by Icelandic immigrants. The webinar will include photos and information about the people, places, famous Icelandic settlers, and some of the challenges they faced in Manitoba. The program is a fundraiser for the Nordic Culture Clubs (to which our Klub belongs) and will feature musical selections from each of the 5 Nordic countries (Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden). Michael Olson, the pianist, will perform the musical selections that represent each of the country’s unique music and composers.
Our own Tor Kartenson will add his beautiful violin music to some of the selections. The concert is free with a free-will donation for the performance and coffee time afterward.
Each of the NCC member clubs will contribute cookies for lunchtime and volunteers are needed to hand out programs, set up, and serve the coffee time after. If you are willing/able to volunteer your time for this event, please contact Susan.
