SCI-Arc recollects the past 50 years to re-imagine the next 50

Tonight's Duel + Duet with Hernán Díaz Alonso and Eric Owen Moss is canceled and will be rescheduled for a later date TBA. 

Join SCI-Arc Director Hernán Díaz Alonso + former Director Eric Owen Moss today for a 50th anniversary Duel + Duet. Duel + Duets is a series of public, one-on-one conversations between two SCI-Arc faculty members, offering a forum for each to present and discuss two personal projects—architectural or otherwise—that shape their practice. Duel + Duets will be an opportunity for guests to share the detail and depth of their work with one another, followed by an open Q+A from the audience. More info

Liam Young
Planet City and the Return of Global Wilderness

Liam Young is premiering a three screen live cinema storytelling performance of his multi disciplinary worldbuilding project Planet City. He will guide audiences on a science fiction safari through an imaginary city for the entire population of the earth, where 10 billion people surrender the rest of the world to a global scaled wilderness and the return of stolen lands. Following the performance Liam Young will be in conversation with award-winning Chinese speculative fiction author, creative producer, and environmentalist Chen Qiufan (also known as Stanley Chan). Introduction by David Ruy. More info

Sprawl Session 3: House As Crisis

SCI-Arc is excited to partner with Laboratory for Suburbia to present Sprawl Session 3: House As Crisis, as part of the 50th Anniversary Public Programs series SCI-Arc Futures, organized by Gavin Kroeber and Mimi Zeiger.
The discussion will feature a remarkable group of architects, designers, and planners, including Keller Easterling, Patty Heyda, James Rojas, Casey Rehm, and Andrew Zago, along with artists Mary Ellen Carroll and Tim Portlock, and journalist Gustavo Arellano.
