Greetings Soaring Heights Families,

It has been wonderful to see everyone after Spring Break. We have so many wonderful events coming up as we enter the last two months of school. With the many exciting activities this newsletter and the Infinite Campus messages will be important to read.

Beginning April 11th, we will have the annual end-of-the-year assessment, CMAS.  Please see details below.  As these assessments are required by both state and federal laws they offer important data on student achievement and provide helpful information to identify trends that better support the direction of our school.

Please make sure your child’s iPad has been updated and is fully charged everyday, especially for CMAS testing.

Track and Field is in full swing with an upcoming meet next Monday at Erie Middle School.

As April often brings inclement weather patterns, please make sure your child is prepared for changes in temperature and precipitation.

We appreciate your partnership and support of our amazing school community. We are honored to work with you and your students.

Have a wonderful week,

Cyrus Weinberger, Principal
Meghan Quirk, Assistant Principal
Krystal Trinkler, Dean
Matt Romig, Dean

Road Construction on County Road 5: Road Closure

Beginning Monday, March 14, County Road 5 will be closed to all traffic north of the Soaring Heights main entrance. Please click here for more information from the Town of Erie and a map of the impacted area.

Both entrances to Soaring Heights will remain open; however, they will only be accessible for cars traveling north on County Road 5, or traveling east on the newly opened Flora View Dr.  Cars exiting the parking lots will not be allowed to turn north.  If needed, Erie PD will be on-site to assist with traffic flow and pedestrian safety.

***Please use caution and mind the speed limit of 25 mph on Flora View Dr.  The Town of Erie has observed vehicles traveling at speeds beyond the speed limit.  Please help keep everyone safe during this construction phase and observe speed limits***
Waste Free Snack Contest from Eco-Eagles

During the month of April, the Eco-Eagles club is holding a waste-free snack contest. The purpose is to raise awareness of trash and litter and encourage waste-reducing habits during Earth month!

To participate, students just need to take a photo of their trash-free snack and scan the contest QR code (posted in classrooms and hallways) to fill in the form and submit their entry. There is no limit to how many times students can enter!

One winner each week will receive a gift card for an ice cream shop so they can enjoy a great waste-free treat...an ice cream cone!

Ideas for waste-free snacks include: apples, oranges and bananas packaged only in their own peel, chips or crackers packaged in a washable container, or reusing a zip top plastic bag instead of throwing it away. Good luck! Thanks for participating!
