The Lane LSC Student Representatives at the March LSC meeting. (Alex Burstein for The Champion)

As spring comes around in Chicago, that means it’s budget time for CPS. At the March LSC meeting, Principal Edwina Thompson gave an initial look at Lane’s budget for the 2022-23 school year. Lane will enter the school year with a slightly bigger budget than this year, though Thompson is hoping an appeal will get Lane even more funds. The meeting also featured an update on the symbol selection process, talk about next year’s school calendar and more. Editor-in-Chief Alex Burstein has a full recap from the meeting.

Prom may not be as feasible as some Lane seniors were hoping. New demerit and debt requirements from the administration released to all Lane seniors via email earlier this month received mixed feedback from students. Managing Editor Aidan Sadovi has more on the student reaction.
