Testing and Isolation Guidance
The Testing and Isolation Guidance has been updated.
The Guide includes instructions for those who have tested positive for
COVID-19, are a close contact with or without symptoms and are a close contact but also critical worker.

The Department of Health have also published updated frequently asked questions, including information on return to work.  The Chief Health Officer's Advice, regarding the relaxation of the Level 2 Public Health and Safety Measures has been released.

What if I have recently recovered from COVID-19 and have been told I am a close contact?
If you have recovered from COVID-19 and are told you are a close contact of a case within the 12 weeks since you completed isolation for COVID-19, you will not be considered a close contact and you do not need to quarantine or be tested for COVID-19.

If you have recovered from COVID-19 and are told you are a close contact more than 12 weeks after you have completed your required isolation for COVID-19, you will need to be retested for COVID-19 in case you have been re-infected. If you are notified that you are a close contact you should follow the guidance in What to do if you test positive for COVID-19, including testing and quarantine requirements.

I have recovered from COVID-19 and have developed new symptoms – do I need to be tested?
If you have recovered from COVID-19 (diagnosed by RAT or PCR), you do not need to be tested for COVID-19 within the 12 weeks after you have completed your required isolation, including if you have symptoms that could be consistent with COVID-19, are told you are a close contact, or for workplace screening.

You should, however, stay at home until your symptoms resolve to prevent the spread of other infections. Your healthcare provider may suggest you are tested for other respiratory viruses, such as influenza, during this time.

If you have recovered from COVID-19 and you develop symptoms more than 12 weeks after you have completed your required isolation for COVID-19, you will need to be retested for COVID-19 in case you have been re-infected.

RAT Update / RATs in the Regions
The Government has announced additional Rapid Antigen Tests will be made available in regional areas.
The additional regional access is intended to ensure remote and regional communities continue to be well placed to detect COVID-19.

Residents in remote communities will receive 20 RATs per household – above the 15 tests already available to households around the State – due to the distance from services and access to postage.

The free RATs will be distributed by local Aboriginal organisations such as the Ngaanyatjarra Council, Midwest employment and Economic Development Aboriginal Corporation and Yulella Aboriginal Corporations, and by the Department of Communities and local Members of Parliament.
