April is Autism Awareness Month; please see below for suggested activities for the whole family!

- Visit Autism Speaks for adult-level information and a link to join the Kindness Campaign for your family or workplace.

- Stories do a great job of eliciting empathy and describing complex situations, here’s a great list of books for elementary aged kids.

Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week
Call for Raffle Donations

The FES PTO is excited to celebrate our amazing teachers and staff during the May 2-6 National Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week (TSAW)! We will provide treats each day that week and on Friday, May 6 we will run a FREE raffle for all FES teachers and staff with everyone having an equal chance to win prizes.

You are invited to participate in our show of gratitude by donating raffle prizes - think movie passes, $20 gift cards, dining certificates, gift baskets filled with your favorite goodies and/or wrapped baked goods, etc. Just no alcohol please.

If you are able to contribute to this free raffle, please deliver items to the school's front office labeled “PTO TSAW Raffle” by Wednesday, April 27 or email the PTO at elementary@falmouthpto.org.

FES Family Movie Night
Wednesday, April 13 at 6:00 pm

Join FES PTO for a FREE Family Movie Night in the FES Cafeteria! Dress in pj's, bring sleeping bags, pillows, and stuffies and snuggle up on the floor to watch Toy Story 4 with free popcorn and drinks!

FES Night at the Ballpark
Friday, May 6 at 6:00 pm

Ticket sales will end on Friday, April 22 and won't last long as we've already sold out twice! The FES Choir will perform the National Anthem and kids will be able to take part in a pre-game parade around the bases!

Thanks to your dedication and a successful year of fundraising, the PTO is able to offer tickets at cost. Group ticket rates are under $7.00 each ($5.00 ticket price plus online purchase fees) and may be purchased here. Get 'em while they're hot!

Be sure to sport your Falmouth Spirit Wear and get ready to root, root, root for the home team!

School Lobby Display

PTO’s second lobby display of the year was installed by our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Subcommittee to celebrate families and their differences! Inspired by Todd Parr’s, “It’s Ok to be Different”, the FES lobby has been animated with posters, puzzles, take-home coloring kits and more for the month of April. Check it out!

Recent Happenings

Request for Proposals

For the first time ever, the FES PTO solicited “Request for Proposals” from teachers and staff for any materials they wanted/needed to enhance their working environments. This initiative was a huge success with 100% of the requests funded! We fulfilled 53 projects totaling $11,500 across the school for projects ranging from flexible seating to math manipulatives to sensory processing materials and so much more.

Coffee Cart

On St. Patrick’s Day, PTO Members strolled the hallways with our second coffee cart of the year! However, this time the cart was brimming with baked goods lovingly made by parents! Teachers and staff enjoyed coffee and sweet treats and were incredibly grateful for the break. Thank you to the parents who donated the baked goods!

Arts Enrichment

On March 23, Casco Bay Movers Dance Director, Kate Marchessault danced in person with all 2nd Grade classes in the gym. It was a blast!

Save the Date

Abilities Awareness Walkathon
Saturday, May 21 at 9:30 am

Join the PTO Abilities Awareness Committee for an Abilities Awareness Walkathon on Saturday, May 21 starting at 9:30 am on the Falmouth school grounds; the rain date will be Sunday, May 22. Funds raised will be donated to the The Cromwell Center for Disabilities Awareness. Stay tuned for more information including a link to register!
