Hello SP Community,

Further to the email from February 21st, two Directors of the SPA Board attended one of the Public Open Houses in March re: the Draft Rural Zoning Bylaw Consolidation and reported back to the Board.  We will be submitting comments to CoKL on behalf of Sturgeon Point.  We also encourage the members of the community to review the following resources and submit your own comments directly to CoKL.

If you missed or couldn't attend the Open Houses, you can find all of the information at Rural Zoning By-Law Consolidation Homepage.  The two following links are also found on the Homepage, however are also included here for ease.

An Online Mapping Tool to Accompany the Draft By-law

As a reminder, the CoKL Rural Zoning By-Laws are being updated to consolidate 13 By-laws covering 193 zones into a single By-Law document governing 37 zones.  Changes of particular interest to SP include provisions related to residential zones and waterfront protection (including shoreline protection and structures).

Comments on the First Draft are due by April 1, 2022 and should be submitted via email to Jonathan Derworiz, MCIP, RPP  and/or ruralzoningbylaw@kawarthalakes.ca. If you have questions about current zoning or a specific property, please submit your questions with subject address to planningadmin@kawarthalakes.ca.  You can also call Jonathan Derworiz at (705) 324-9411 ext.1330.

As always, please feel free to reach out to SPA by email.
