Investors can learn from crypto scam doc
|
The collapse of Quadriga in 2019 caused massive losses for 76,000 investors from Canada and around the world, who collectively lost at least $169 million. About 40 per cent of these investors were Ontarians. Netflix is now streaming the documentary Trust No One: The Hunt for the Crypto King. Previously, OSC published a report outlining the events from Quadriga’s inception to its eventual collapse, with a focus on how the platform was run, what caused its collapse, and what happened to clients’ assets.

Government announces selection of dedicated CEO
|
The Government of Ontario announced it selected Grant Vingoe as the first dedicated CEO of the OSC. In this newly created role, Vingoe will continue to serve on the OSC’s Board of Directors. Additionally, OSC current Vice-Chair, Tim Moseley, was nominated as Chief Adjudicator of the commission’s new Capital Markets Tribunal. The government also announced its nominees for the OSC’s Board of Directors and the Capital Markets Tribunal, including Chair-nominee Heather Zordel.
