The co-creators of KCA (with baby Arlo) on the edge of the Kalmiopsis Wilderness

Tomorrow is the day!
We need all the support we can get. Bring your friends, your kids, your barber, your 2nd grade teacher, your mail carrier, and you!

Please arrive before 5pm if possible

Presentation by the KCA co-creators

5:30-6pm
KCA co-creators will answer questions from the school board

If possible, wear pink (the color of the Kalmiopsis leachiana flower)

Please consider attending if:

- You want to learn more about the school
- You are a student interested in possibly attending KCA
- You are a parent of a student who might be a good fit for the school (either very soon or many years down the road)
- You would like to see more available options for high school students in the Illinois Valley or you want to show your support for a new option

You don't need to speak during the public comment period. Your presence will be enough to help the school board acknowledge the show of community support.

If you can't be there in person, you can email a letter of support (it's okay to write a short letter, but if you feel like rambling then that's okay too).

Fun and Miscellany
"Pi Day in July"

With so much serious stuff to do until opening day (board meetings! public hearings!), we don't want to lose sight of what's really important: the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter.

So we present...

Pi Day! In July!

Imagine this...

- a "Pi K," where people run for 3.14159 kilometers all around Cave Junction while carrying a pie
- an after party at Jubilee Park with live music, perhaps even a "Pi-themed" rock song
- a "Square Root Beer" tent for drinks to cool us down
- a "Pi Recitation Contest" to see who can memorize the most digits of Pi!
- maybe an "Irrational Speech" and/or "Irrational Slam Poetry" contest?
- maybe a pie baking and/or pie eating contest?

To sum it up,
Save the date!

Sunday 7/17: Two prime numbers adding up to one very special Pi Day in July.
