Introducing NCTR Impact

We at NCTR are proud to introduce our new monthly, e-newsletter NCTR Impact! NCTR Impact combines all the best parts of our former newsletters, Eblast and Noteworthy (NCTR's newsletter for our Network partners). NCTR Impact will feature information about state and federal policy, upcoming Network partner opportunities, and teacher residency research and data, while also celebrating the accomplishments of our teacher residencies in action. We invite you to learn and engage with us via NCTR Impact, as we continue to advance the national teacher residency movement together!

Registered Apprenticeship Opportunity Can Support Teacher Residency Programs

The United States Department of Labor (DOL) codified K-12 teaching as an “apprenticeable” occupation in November 2021. As a result, programs that train and provide workforce development for K-12 teachers are now eligible to apply and become “registered apprenticeships,” which in turn provides access to recurring workforce development and other dollars that can support sustainability. One of NCTR’s partners, Dallas College, is the first registered teacher residency apprenticeship program in Texas!

Network partners are invited to learn how this news can impact their work during an optional Policy Office Hours session with NCTR Director of State and Federal Policy Cortney Rowland scheduled for 3-4 p.m. CST on Wednesday, April 20 via Zoom. Registration details will be provided in a separate email.
