LIFE TOGETHER

Youth Palm Cross Potluck

Wednesday, April 6. 6:30 PM, Hebron Hall

Living Creatures 2nd Friday Event

Friday, April 8, 7 PM, Whitefield Center
Living Creatures is happy to announce the first “2nd Friday Event" on Friday, April 8th at the Whitefield Center.

"Say to the Daughter of Zion, `See, your king comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.’"  - Matthew 21:5

As we approach Palm Sunday, Living Creatures is here to give you the rare opportunity to meditate a bit on one of our most neglected and maligned “friendly beasts” . . . . . the Donkey. Doors will open at 7 p.m.  We will be serving a tasty and free dinner consisting of hearty barley soup, fresh bread and a smattering of cheeses.

Jon Dunham will be the special live guest of the evening. Jon will be exhibiting a photo essay that reflects on his time in South America with a donkey companion named Judas. Jon will also be giving a talk about his time with Judas as a lead-in to a screening of the greatest movie ever made about a Donkey or any hoofed animal. (It must go unnamed in this announcement due to legal limitations, but it is not a Shrek movie nor is it a movie for kids.)

In case you would like to whet your appetite for the evening, please check out the podcast that Jon recorded for Living Creatures where Jon talks about his experience watching the film as someone who had a powerful bond with his companion Judas.

PRAYER

Weekly Collect

Almighty God, you alone can bring into order the unruly wills and affections of sinners: Grant your people grace to love what you command and desire what you promise; that, among the swift and varied changes of this world, our hearts may surely there be fixed where true joys are to be found; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
