Garden Fest Fertilizer Sale

The 2nd annual Garden Fest sprang into a chilly start on Friday, April 1. The community sale will continue on a sunny Saturday, April 2, 9 am – 5 pm, and wrap up on Sunday, April 3, 9 am - 2 pm in the rear parking lot at Holy Rosary Hall, 35 Queen St. S., Thorold.

Great Deals on Fertilizer
A wide variety of high-quality lawn and garden fertilizers Niagara Orchard and Vineyard Corpo will be on sale at Garden Fest.
Compost
Compost donated by Walker Industries will be available for a cash contribution or non-perishable food items for the SVDP Food Bank.
Grass Seed
Premium grass seed supplied by Hydro Lakes Hydro Grass Seeding will be on sale.
Stokes Seeds
Customers can get a packet of beet seeds compliments of Stokes Seeds. (while supplies last) Voluntary donations appreciated!
Bottle Drive
To help keep the environment clean and safe, Garden Fest will also feature a bottle drive and used battery collection. The convenient drive-up in the parking lot will have K of C volunteers on site to assist donors to drop off donations.
Food Bank Drive
Non-perishable food items will be collected at Garden Fest to support the St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank in Thorold.
Barbecue on Saturday, April 2, 12 pm to 5 pm.
A barbecue will be set up with hamburgers and hot dogs on sale Saturday from Noon to 5 pm.
The 3-day community sale hosted by the Knights of Columbus 2319 is open to the public in support of local charities. Proceeds will go to the Walker Family Cancer Centre (Niagara Health Foundation), Special Olympics, St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank, and Wellspring Niagara.

NPFFC & Club Capri Partner for a Fundraising Win

The Niagara Peninsula Foundation For Children was extremely pleased to partner with Club Capri to host the successful 2022 Elimination Draw and Dinner on March 30th. NPFFC Chair Jack Foster says the event was a big win. Read more.

Thorold Minor Baseball

Registration is open for Thorold Minor Baseball. Kids can join the 200+ players that signed up for the 2022 season.. For players interested in the Select Team, registration is required now. Don't strike out, this opportunity might swing by because the House-League teams are filling up fast. Go to ThoroldBaseball.com to learn more and to register.

Thorold Soccer Club

The path to the World Cup for players on Team Canada started with groups similar to the Thorold Soccer Club. For future World Cup soccer stars, or for kids who just want to have fun, the TSC offers a full house league division ranging from U4 soccer school to U10. An Interlock division is open for U12 and U14 teams. All Thorold Soccer teams are co-ed.

Options for McMillan Park

The District School Board of Niagara has proposed to install a turf field at McMillan Park for football and soccer as well as a running track. The proposal would result in the removal of the park's current baseball diamond.What do you think the presidents of Thorold Minor Baseball and Thorold Soccer Club said in a city council meeting to discuss the future of the park?

Self Help - April show by TCT

In April, Thorold Community Theatre will be performing Norm Foster's "Self Help" directed by J. Miroslav Beneš. More news on the upcoming TCT show will be published soon. Stay tuned for details to buy tickets for the show. They say "it's a show you won't want to miss."

Easter Egg Hunt - April 16

Hop on over to the Easter Egg Hunt on April 16, 1 to 3 pm, Richmond Street Park in Thorold. Everyone gets a goodie bag.
"We're excited to partner with Henderson's Pharmacy to deliver the much coveted chocolate Easter bunnies and goodie bags," exclaimed Mark DeVos, Pastor,The Village Church.
Participants get 20 minutes to collect eggs. The community is invited to stay and socialize following the Easter Egg Hunt. Drinks will be provided.

Houses Selling Faster - Thorold Real Estate Report

Things are moving relatively faster for home sellers in Thorold based on a recent real estate report. On average, a Thorold house was on the market for 15 days in February 2022, which was a drop of 55% in a year-over-year comparsion.
