The Institute for Human Rights and Business is delighted to announce the appointment of Julia Batho as its new Deputy Chief Executive.

Julia will play a leading role in shaping IHRB's future direction and leadership, contributing to the strategic development of IHRB, oversight for monitoring and evaluation of programmes, good governance, and day-to-day management of the organisation. Julia will also play a key role in representing IHRB externally and building strong relationships with IHRB's funders and strategic partners.

IHRB LAUNCHES THE LABOUR MIGRATION NETWORK LISTSERVE – JOIN TODAY!

IHRB's Migrant Workers' Programme launches the Labour Migration Network – a general listserve for individuals and organisations interested in all aspects of labour migration and its intersection with business and human rights.

Participants include workers themselves and representatives of: unions, CSOs and NGOs, UN agencies, governments, companies that employ migrant workers directly or in their supply chains, recruiters, trade associations, investors and financial actors, and academics.

Members of the ListServe should use this platform to share work and news on the subject, collaborate with colleagues in the network, and participate in posted activities.

THE DHAKA PRINCIPLES AT 10

Throughout 2022, IHRB is marking ten years of the Dhaka Principles for Migration with Dignity with guest commentaries from representatives of business, trade unions, civil society organisations – reflecting  on the continuing importance of each of the twelve individual Principles. IHRB ON JUST TRANSITIONS AT THE INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION FORUM

IHRB's John Morrison moderates the working session on 'Greening the economy while protecting human rights: a dilemma?' at The International Cooperation Forum (March 31 to April 1).

Transitioning from a high to carbon economy to a low sustainable economy will present many challenges and therefore require multi-stakeholder collaboration and efforts to mitigate its social impact on people and communities, particularly in emerging economies.
