Do You See What I See?

Creativity Cluster

Exhibition runs: 23 April to 5 May
Floor Talk: Saturday 30 April at 2pm

Floor Talk: Do You See What I See? An Introduction to the Creativity Cluster Exhibition
Creativity Cluster facilitator, Nancy D Lane, will introduce the exhibition and discuss the Creativity Cluster group, why they chose the theme for this exhibition, and how each of the artists has explored different ways of interpreting the theme using their preferred medium: oil and acrylic paint, ceramics, mosaics, textile collage or found object assemblage. She will encourage you to look at the artworks closely and suggest what you ‘see’, or what ideas or feelings they evoke. She will then talk about what the artists themselves were trying to convey. After the talk, you are welcome to join Nancy for coffee at a nearby café if you are interested.

Saturday 30 April at 2pm | No Charge

Creative Workshops

Design a Brooch and a Fridge Magnet from Found Objects

A hands-on workshop with NancyDee Sculptures

Brooches are back and celebrities are wearing them. Now you can wear one from an exclusive designer: namely, you. Plus, your fridge magnets needn’t advertise companies no longer in business. You can create your own, one that will make you smile.

Workshop facilitator Nancy D Lane is known for her imaginative, quirky one-of-a-kind brooches, art magnets and wall sculptures, which she makes from trash and natural materials that she finds on Melbourne’s streets and beaches. She will show you how she creates her designs, then encourage you to make a brooch and a magnet that are uniquely ‘you’.

Bring some of your own found objects, or select from the wide range of materials she has collected to Clean Up Australia. Wear old clothes, as the glue is messy.

Thursday 5 May, 10am-11.30am | Cost: $30
