Social media has become a huge part of our culture's form of communication. We would appreciate parents/guardians, teachers, and school staff to come “like” the Puma Pride PTA at Firestone Charter Academy Facebook page. We will be using this forum for reminders, updates and announcements alongside the @pumapridepta Instagram page. It would be amazing if our likes/followers equaled that of our enrolled students!

St. Vrain’s Unframed Student Art Show will be held at the Boulder County Fairgrounds from April 12-17. The event is free and open to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily. There will be a special artists' night open house celebration on April 14 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. We look forward to celebrating our dedicated art students and teachers representing all of our schools across the district.

Puma Pride PTA's School of Excellence Program is wrapping up and we are deploying our final survey to determine if we improved in our focus area of supporting students' emotional and mental well-being. This survey is one of the final steps in being recognized as a National PTA School of Excellence. The goal of the School of Excellence program is to enrich the educational experience and overall well-being of students by building a welcoming and inclusive community. Our participation in this program enters us for consideration of a $2,000 grant. Please take 5-10 minutes to complete this survey. The survey is completely anonymous and open to all FCA parents, guardians, and staff.
The deadline to complete this survey is April 30, 2022.

Texting, gramming, Roblox, Minecraft, TikTok, YouTube. Technology is changing fast, and many of us are struggling to stay one step ahead of our kids and learn everything we can about being online. (Not an easy task when most of them know more about it than we do!)
Join us for a virtual Family Tech Talk presentation with an Internet safety expert from Trend Micro, who will share the latest trends, give advice on how to help your child use the Internet responsibly, and answer parent questions in a Q&A session. The Zoom event will be on Tuesday, May 10th at 6pm. Click the link at the bottom to join the event.
We’ll discuss what our children are doing online—and how to teach them to be smart, safe, and respectful digital citizens. We’ll also cover privacy and security issues, how to encourage responsible Internet use, and even more.
In addition to learning some helpful tips, you could win a Trend Micro Internet security product! Five copies of Trend Micro Maximum Security will be raffled off to families attending the event.

Shoutout to the Falter family for providing a glider for the FCA teacher in need of a reading chair!!! Ms Reese was previously using a small student chair for reading to the class and if any of you have ever tried that as an adult you know it is not ideal  This is what it means to be a community - helping when and where you can! Proud to be part of the FCA family!

Has your child's teacher gone above and beyond? Nominate him/her for a Golden Apple Award! The Golden Apple Award recognizes outstanding achievements of ALL our FCA staff (not just teachers) who dedicate their valuable time to make our school wonderful! A winner and a runner up will be announced during assemblies for Grammar Academy and Logic Academy. Please write a brief and specific narrative for why you are nominating a FCA staff member. Nomination forms are available in printable pdf form and also in digital form.
