Bartees Strange signs to 4AD, befriends The National
Earlier this month Bartees Strange signed to the 4AD label—joining our flagship artist The National among the many other legends on the roster. He commemorated the milestone by releasing a live version of The National's slow-boil anthem "About Today" in collaboration with music and mental health non-profit Sounds of Saving and the Suicide Prevention Lifeline. The studio version appears on our March 2020 release Say Goodbye to Pretty Boy a full EP of The National cover versions. Soon after he announced a run of summer tour dates opening up for the band—adding to his extensive spring/summer tours with a who's who of indie icons like Carseat Headrest, Spoon, and Courtney Barnett.

Baby Dayliner crosses the million stream mark
The ALL THAT EMOTION cycle continues to resonate. The JUNOS (Canada's answer to the Grammys) recently nominated it as Adult Alternative Album of the Year—while Newport Folk Festival announced she'll appear on Friday July 22nd, with more US dates to be announced. Discover her Aaron Dessner-produced album or its sibling releases ATE VERSIONS (featuring collabs with Bartees, Matt Berninger and others) or ATE (ACOUSTIC) featuring intimate piano-forward revisitations of these devastating and personal songs.
The music of Baby Dayliner is the perfect soundtrack to breaking up...or getting together. If you're looking for an on ramp try his classic YOU PUSH I'LL GO whose title track recently hit the 1 million stream milestone on Spotify or his nostalgic synth banger "Talk To Me." More time? Revisit the highlights of his discography with this YouTube playlist — explore his Babbs mixtape on Spotify or Apple Music — or download some music at Bandcamp. Says Matt Berninger: "He writes about the small vulnerable moments of life and nails the details."

Buke and Gase with So Percussion and Rahrah Gabor
Buke and Gase kicked off 2022 with a pair of collaborative releases posting to streaming services in rapid succession. In February came their EP with Newark rapper Rahrah Gabor "a snappy, cocky, and witty collaboration" according to The Line of Best Fit's 8/10 review. The Quietus went farther calling "a magical portal leading to its own upside-down world. And behind the doors awaits Technicolor frenzy!"

Joining it on streaming services in January was their 2021 album with So Percussion "a wily exercise in melodic noise-rock" (Bandcamp) filled with “wonderful twists & turns” (NPR Music) and named one of “5 Classical Albums to Hear Right Now” by The New York Times.
