The Berkeley Lecture: 'An excavation in Fladbury revisited'
Dr David Hinton (University of Southampton)
In 1967 a rescue excavation near the church in Fladbury found a substantial prehistoric ditch, Roman burials, and a grain-drying oven associated with the minster and royal centre recorded in seventh- and eighth-century documents. A detailed typescript had been prepared but not published, and the site was clearly of sufficient importance to have the work on it brought up to date.
The Society warmly welcomes residents of Fladbury to this lecture, which is being held right next to the site under discussion.
