Sustainability, Funding
& Climate Change

Annual Conference
18th and 19th May 2022 - Online

We face a global climate emergency.

Funders in the West Midlands – whether environmental specialists or not - can take action to help local communities ensure a sustainable future.

The focus of this year’s WMFN Conference will be on sustainability and how funding approaches that use a sustainability lens can build a better future for everyone. The event will be held over 2 consecutive days and we welcome trustees, staff, advisors and assessors to attend all or as many sessions as they wish.

The approach to the conference will be to raise understanding and knowledge of sustainability and climate change issues; how funders can incorporate a sustainability lens in their grant making, and support grantees as well as review their own policies and practices. Wherever you are on this journey of considering sustainability in your funding approach, it’s in all of our interests to rise to the challenge and play our part in addressing climate change.

You don't need to have an environmental funding programme to contribute to the sustainability and climate action agenda.

If your funding addresses poverty, disadvantage or ill-health, then considering sustainability in your operations, funding policy and practice will support sustainable development and social change.

Whatever your organisation's size, mission and priorities we can all play a part in addressing the causes and impact of climate change. Mitigating climate change, and the human suffering it will bring, is a major theme in philanthropy today.

Join our action-packed, two-day conference to explore sustainability, funding and climate change in more detail, and find out how funders in the West Midlands can respond now aqnd in the future to support local communities.

We hope to see as many of you as possible at our conference, and we will be sending some updates and reminders in the coming weeks as we approach the event.

We would also like to thank Charity Bank and Brewin Dolphin for sponsoring the conference.

With best wishes,
Dipali, WMFN
