Six Chief Parts

Issue 59

It is common to hear people talking about keeping their faith simple.
Today’s unused quotation from the forgotten files challenges this notion.

“Never take advantage of the ambiguity of terms by failing mentally to substitute definitions that restrict and explain them.”

You are to be commended if you want to make the effort to keep your confession of faith simple for the sake of the unlearned, the very young, the very old, or the intellectually challenged, but that is much different than keeping your faith simple.
It takes great effort and serious study to speak in a simple way. It requires knowledge and wisdom to be clear and succinct. Please recognize the difference between communicating something simply and being a simple-minded Christian. The world needs you to know your stuff! Study the Scriptures!
