- Next steps/Next Meeting Dates (This is a monthly call that you can join as you are able!)
These monthly gatherings are geared to clergy and lay leaders who are interested in supporting public schools, and school leaders interested in the intersections of faith and advocacy for public schools. You might be leading a group of volunteers with schools or chair the social justice committee or be clergy wanting to learn more, etc. You might also be church members who is an educator or want to start a group working on school support in your congregation. All are welcome!
Our hope is that this conversation builds a network of interested participants across the state in conversations and collective action to bring systemic change and justice for public schools, especially in more fully funding public education and creating equitable schools for all of NC's children. These started as informal meetings to start the conversation and build up leaders to keep reaching out further across the state.
It will be a time for introductions, a bit of teaching or discussion about current situations/policies/bills that are coming up, and a chance to support one another in the work. We know lots of people are doing this work of supporting our local schools in silos and in various counties, and we need people connecting to make a bigger impact, be encouraged, share ideas, etc.
