Dear readers,

As the war in Ukraine continues and the humanitarian and refugee crisis escalates, many actors have come together to support Ukraine and those affected. We have created a section on the website with news and information on the Ukraine crisis, including ways to support. We also feature initiatives by sport for development actors, sport clubs and federations and sportspersons, and invite the sportanddev community to share their efforts. 

With Earth Day coming up this Friday, we highlight Team Canada’s commitment to be carbon neutral at the upcoming Commonwealth Games and a French article on how sport can protect the planet. We also feature a new European Commission report on how to improve gender equality in sport, a storytelling webinar, reflections on the legacy of the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Qatar and an article on the Street Child Cricket World Cup.
