Dear People of Hope,

Alleluia! Christ is Risen!
Christ is Risen Indeed! Alleluia!

Happy Easter to everyone.  It was great to see around 60 of you in person this Sunday, and another 15 households on zoom.  We shared a potluck breakfast with an abundance of delicious food.  We shared a celebratory worship service with special music and real bread for communion.  Children enjoyed an egg hunt (pictured above) in the sunshine after worship.

The church had been prepared and decorated, the yard was tidied up.  Dozens of you helped make this happen, by reading scripture, practicing music, bringing food, running tech equipment, donating and packing eggs, inviting friends and family to join us.  And then staying to clean up afterwards.

Thank you all who supported Holy Week and Easter. This was truly a community event at Hope.

Peace of the Risen Christ, Pastor Julie
Memorial Service for Ellen Pitt Nairn
Saturday April 23, 3pm
followed by fellowship

This Saturday we gather with Ellen's husband Randy, son Bruce/Ben, mother Jean, and additional family and friends.  Anyone is welcome to join the in-person memorial service at 3pm, or fellowship time afterwards.

If you would like to come early or stay late to help support the family in their time of mourning, reach out to Beth in the office, or simply come to Hope at 2:30 Saturday afternoon.  Additionally, the fellowship time includes potluck food, so bring food to share if you are able.
Lauren Johnson has died
Tuesday April 19, early morning

Longtime Hope member, Lauren Johnson died this week.  Lauren struggled with health challenges for past few years; she experienced a quick decline through Holy Week last week.  The Hope community grieves with Lauren's siblings, Kevin and Meredith, also long time church members.  We will keep you informed as plans develop for a memorial service at Hope.  In the meantime, we pray together:

Into your hands, O merciful Savior, we commend your servant Lauren. Acknowledge, we humbly beseech you, a sheep of your own fold, a lamb of your own flock, a sinner of your own redeeming. Receive her into the arms of your mercy, into the blessed rest of everlasting peace, and into the glorious company of the saints in light. Amen.

After nearly 2 years of prayer, research, and discernment, council senses that Hope is prepared to vote on how to officially move forward with the current property development proposal.  You have participated in small groups, large groups, prayers and walk-throughs.  There are some details we simply won't be able to know until later in the process, but council feels it is time to take a next-step.

Members have received a letter in the mail with details, the specific langue of the vote, and logistics for zoom/remote voting.  Members must be present at the 1:30 meeting to be eligible to vote.  Contact any member of council, or Beth in the office with any questions.
