Palm Sunday was a banner day for our church that highlighted the joy brought by children among us. From the grandchildren of members to first-time guests, all were glad to be a part of the day’s activities. The morning began with processing through the sanctuary with palm leaves. What child doesn’t love being in a parade? During the combined worship service, the children made their palm leaf crafts and raced paper donkeys across palm leaves while learning about Jesus’ entrance into Jerusalem.
After worship, the Easter Bunny hopped into the fun, and many families took the opportunity to get a traditional Easter picture. That afternoon, our church family showcased its finest at Asbury Place’s parking lot! The youth supervised the children’s activities, including a bounce house and craft projects. Many adult volunteers pitched in with set-up, cooking hotdogs, cleanup, and everything in between! Families enjoyed decadent potato creations thanks to Cokesbury Women United’s potato bar. The egg hunts did not disappoint as children quickly gathered the brightly colored plastic eggs and were excited to receive a treat bag at the end of the hunt.
Thank you to all who participated and served! This Saturday (the 23rd), Cokesbury Kids will be part of Be My Neighbor Day from 10AM to 2PM at the WSRE Amos Studio and would love to see our families there!
