 ORC Newsletter: Overseas Scholarship Deadlines and Spring Quarter Events

Thank you for your interest in overseas scholarships. Hope your quarter is going well and that you are enjoying the many spring activities around campus. Below you will see a few new sessions that have been added to our spring info and application sessions list.

Upcoming scholarship deadlines include opportunities abroad to the United Arab Emirates, U.S., Germany, and many other countries. We look forward to working with you!

IAPPLICATION DEADLINES

If you are interested in applying for any of these awards this year, go to the individual scholarship webpage and fill out the relevant Intent to Apply form so that we can send you more details.

NEW! CLS Spark (Critical Language Scholarship) 
When: National Deadline May 26, 2022
Where: Virtual; All majors; U.S undergrad students 
Purpose: Initiative providing virtual opportunities for U.S. undergraduate students to learn either Arabic, Chinese, or Russian through online classes and activities facilitated by native speakers at a host institution abroad.

Clinton Scholarship - UAE
When: National Deadline June 1, 2022
Where: United Arab Emirates (UAE); Majors: All Majors; US Citizen, freshman to senior
Purpose: 1 semester (September-December) of study at American University of Dubai

NEW! Quad Fellowship 
When: National Deadline June 1, 2022
Where: U.S; Majors: STEM; Citizen or permanent resident of Australia, India, Japan or the U.S.; BA/BS by August 2023
Purpose: The Fellowship will sponsor 100 American, Japanese, Australian, and Indian master’s and doctoral students in STEM to study in the United States. 

Heidelberg University HAUS Scholarships
When: National Deadline June 15, 2022
Where: Germany; Fields: All fields; US citizen or resident, undergraduate or master’s level, accepted as student at Heidelberg University
Purpose: Scholarships for Master’s and Bachelor’s students for one semesters of study at Heidelberg University, with option to extend for a second semester.
 

II. INFORMATION SESSIONS 

We offer many info sessions for Stanford students. We also promote additional external opportunities that may be of interest to you. Our new spring sessions are posted here:

McCall MacBain U.S. Applicants Information Sessions  The McCall MacBain Scholars Program offers funding for a master’s or professional degree at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Join these sessions to hear more details on the scholarship program, what they look for, graduate study options, and the selection process.

Explore England - Graduate Studies Info Session
Join us for an information session on Explore England - Graduate Studies designed for Stanford students, presented by the Explore England Consortium with a panel of representatives from Northumbria University, Newcastle, Lancaster University, University of Manchester, and University of Sheffield. This will be an interactive workshop on exploring study in the UK (differences to US, challenges, finance, applying and much more).

Fulbright Group Info Session
The Fulbright grants support research, study or an English teaching assistantship abroad to over 130 different countries. 
 
This is a group presentation hosted by the International Institute of Education (IIE). In this session, IIE staff will provide background and advice on the Fulbright application components and Fulbright alumni ambassadors will share their insight and host country experience. Our office will also provide details on the Stanford campus process in a breakout session following the main presentation.

Quad Fellowship by Schmidt Futures - Info Session for Stanford students
This fellowship will sponsor 100 American, Japanese, Australian, and Indian master’s and doctoral students in STEM to study in the United States. Join this info session, present by representatives from the Quad Fellowship and ORC, to hear more about this award and the application process.

III. BECHTEL INTERNATIONAL CENTER - CULTURAL AND SOCIAL PROGRAMS


The Bechtel International Center offers many events and programming throughout the year. While many of these programs and events are geared to international students, there are quite a few that welcome both U.S. and international students.
