Over the last few months, The Guide to Holiness newsletter has added almost 200 new subscribers. Ordinarily, that would be cause for great celebration. However, I have come to understand that there is a problem with Facebook and people getting added to newsletter lists without their knowledge or consent.
This is a problem. A big one.
I've had my email added to lists in the past and been irritated by it. If you don't want to receive this newsletter, you shouldn't have to.
But here's the thing...
If everyone who didn't sign up unsubscribes right now, MailChimp will suspend my account as a spam account. That's the reason I haven't sent an email in a while. I needed to figure out a plan to avoid getting my account suspended or moving to a different platform.
So, there's two things I'm doing and I need your help with one of them:
1. I've removed the sign-up button from the GtH Facebook page. That seems to be the culprit.
2. If you didn't subscribe and would like to unsubscribe, would you please reply to this email and let me do it for you? If I remove your email, it won't count against the spam algorithm MailChimp uses which also means my account won't get suspended.
I apologize for the inconvenience. For the rest of you who do want to receive the Guide to Holiness, we're about to get back in the (circuit rider's) saddle again, so get ready!
