Dear Reader,
If there was anything we learned over the past few years (and as cliche as it sounds) it really was that we’re in this together. At Next Avenue, we work hard to publish relevant, timely and relatable stories for our readers — stories that cover the topics most important to you. We could not have done this good work without your communicating directly with us. We also could not have done it without your financial support.
This spring, we’re reflecting on how journalism is vital to learning new things, guiding readers to much needed resources, feeling connected to those around us, and ultimately our belief that it should be free and accessible to everyone.
In the past year, we wrote stories about:
-
parenting a difficult adult child
-
the history of nursing homes and the future of elder care
-
today’s language in online dating
-
how men adapt to being solo agers
-
retiring on a shoestring and what to do when you don’t know what to do in retirement
We released several guides including How to Manage Chronic Pain, A Beginner’s Guide to Therapy, and A Guide on How to Deal with Your Stuff. And we also offered virtual arts courses when so many were unable to attend classes in person.
All of this was accessible to readers like you because we don’t have a paywall on our site or charge a subscription fee. Financial support from readers helps sustain every aspect of what we do. Without you, we don't exist. It’s as simple as that.
Our spring membership campaign has given us an opportunity to remember what’s most important: staying connected, staying true to our readers and looking toward the future.
If you value our work, will you make a donation to our spring campaign today?
