But Christ has truly been raised from the dead—the first one and proof that those who sleep in death will also be raised. 21 Death has come because of what one man did, but the rising from death also comes because of one man. 22 In Adam all of us die. In the same way, in Christ all of us will be made alive again. 1 Corinthians 15:20–22 (NCV)
Greetings in the name of the One who brings death to its end and life to its fullness!!
After being gone so long we knew we would meet challenging situations. That is true but realizing the hope that we have because of the great sacrifice and love of Christ, we are not defeated. Perhaps feeling discouraged from time to time but never without hope because of our resurrected Lord!!
Here are some of the things we met
HIGHER PRICES
The war in the Ukraine has become the reason for raising prices not only on fuel but virtually everything else. Rice, rock, sand, food, transportation and labor have all increased significantly. Our budget for construction has had to be reworked several times now so pray we can accomplish what needs to get done on this trip over.
SOLAR BATTERIES
We knew when we bought a used system that the batteries would not last very long, but they have served us for nearly 3 years. The bottom line is that to replace the batteries with longer lasting, new batteries will be between $6,000 to $8,000. So that is another prayer concern/need. Fuel costs being what they are it is actually more reasonable to use solar than a generator.
CLINIC AUDIT
Carolyn has been very busy going over all the reports from the clinic and doing the various inventories and evaluations. It is a real challenge, having been gone so long. There are many little pieces in this giant puzzle, so she needs your prayers as well. She is beginning to see an end to this aspect of our being here and gearing up for the school beginning next September.
THE START OF SCHOOL THIS FALL
Classrooms are being painted in preparation for the beginning of school. We are awaiting the arrival of our curriculum within a few weeks. Soon there will be teacher hiring, student enrollment, uniform material procurement and making. We may have to wait on the electrical as funding allows.
Thanks to your participation, about 8,000 blocks have been molded for the administration building but because of the economic situation we elected to build another classroom and student restroom facilities now. We will wait until provision comes to go ahead with the administration building.
