Federal Government Investing $55 Million in the Trail
As announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland in the 2022 Federal Budget, Trans Canada Trail is delighted that the Government of Canada has renewed our funding, committing $55 million over the next 5 years. This ensures that we can continue to protect, enhance and animate the longest trail network in the world.

If you ever need motivation to get out the door and make good on your goal of getting outside more... get a dog! Sophie Jobin had heard about the Trans Canada Trail near her home and wanted to go out and see it for herself. However, she didn’t feel confident enough to explore areas she didn’t know on her own. Enter: Gunner the “Double Doodle” (Goldendoodle & Labradoodle) who has no fear and can’t wait to get out on the Trail.
