Beaming birdsong on the breeze from the blossoming desert terrain! The cacti are sending out new baby paddles and popping with buds, seemingly overnight. The Ocotillos are dotting the horizon with coral colored bouquets, and the Mesquites are new vibrant growth. The bees and I are so pleased, to say the least!

Fun southern Arizona fact- millions of pounds of dates are grown here every year!! Not but a few hours southwest of the Tucson-area, I was able to connect with a wonderful family farm and secure the freshest, juiciest dates for this month's recipe- a favorite from last year.... for the record- this was 2021's "most wanted" treat post sold-out status.
