Dear <<First Name>>,

This past Thursday, my office and I showed our support for Hilton Metrotown workers locked out and picketing every day for the past year. More than 400 people have been locked out, including long-term staff members who want to return to work. We call upon the Hilton Metrotown to reinstate these workers in good faith. We want to ensure that no one is left behind.

Can't wait to see you!
Here are some things I'd like to share with you from the past week:

Thousands of B.C. families benefit from the expansion of $10 a Day ChildCareBC

For too many years, accessible, affordable child care was either neglected or treated as a luxury.

Thousands of families are seeing dramatic savings on the cost of child care with 84 more $10 a Day ChildCareBC sites available throughout the province.

Affordable child care helps give children access to quality early learning programs and enables parents – particularly mothers – to pursue work, education and opportunity.

Canada and British Columbia invest in 57 infrastructure projects across the province to create inclusive, resilient communities

Investment in infrastructure is an investment in people.

We announced more than $110.3 million in joint federal-provincial funding for 57 community, recreation, and green infrastructure projects across B.C.

We’re committed to making life more affordable, delivering the services people count on and building a robust, sustainable and innovative economy that works for everyone.

Funding helps 60 organizations tackle racism

No one in our province should suffer discrimination or live in fear of violence.

We’re providing funding to communities throughout B.C. to have improved access to resources to help them tackle discrimination and enhance the province’s diversity as 60 organizations receive support through the B.C. Multiculturalism Grants program.

There’s still a lot of work, but this funding is another step to address systemic racism and discrimination in our province.

B.C. businesses benefit from national intellectual property partnership

Business owners and entrepreneurs in B.C. will have better access to intellectual property resources to protect and develop their ideas through a new partnership.

“This agreement supports our StrongerBC Economic Plan by helping business owners and entrepreneurs better protect their ideas, expand their reach and increase profits. Fostering this type of work and important innovation will position our province as a global leader while keeping new jobs, ideas and opportunities right here at home,” said Ravi Kahlon, Minister of Jobs, Economic Recovery and Innovation.

Workshop: Sleep & Bedtimes

Wednesday, April 27, 10 AM- 12 PM

Navigating sleep in the first months after the baby has arrived, and into the early years of childhood can be a challenge for caregivers. Questions surrounding what is “normal” sleep for kids, why my baby keeps waking up at night, and how I avoid the bedtime protests are enough to keep caregivers up at night. In this workshop geared towards caregivers of children 0-5 years of age, we will build understanding around typical sleep patterns, challenges in infancy, bedtime struggles in early childhood, and strategies to encourage better sleep for little ones.
