A REMINDER FOR THIS WEEKEND...

Final Film In Classic Film Series
Sunday, April 17
4:00 pm
Orcas Center Mainstage

Dear Film Lovers,

Our 2022 OIFF Classics Film Series hosted by Michael Yeaman closes out this weekend with a world-class Technicolor film about War and the Afterlife: “A Matter of Life and Death.”

In the aftermath of WWII, much of Hollywood and the global film industry struggled with how to address the loss of so many men and women in the war. The great British film team of Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger rose to the challenge with one of the greatest Technicolor wonders of the 20th Century.  Film stars David Niven, Kim Hunter and Raymond Massey headline the cast.  This film was voted to be among the top 100 movies of all time and the second greatest British film ever. The movie’s afterlife special effects almost steal the show all by themselves!

As before, there will be an introduction to the film and an open discussion following its screening. You are welcome to bring in food and drink (although please be nice and neat).

Covid protocols active at the showing date will be in place; proof of vaccination and masks to be worn when not eating or drinking.  Online reservations with spacing between parties in the theatre will be required.  See all the films and more information below.

The Classic Film Series is FREE to the public and generously funded by the OrcaSong Institute.  Thank you!
