A realtor for Monterey Peninsula Home Team wrote this email to Stop Pacaso Now website, signing it as a 'Concerned Citizen"....concerned that we may be hurting his relationship to Pacaso!
"Stop acting like this is an Airbnb operation.
Open your eyes.
Property tax is paid at the market price and the buyers of the shares are a very affluent crowd.
You're lucky to have them in your area.
Would you rather have the homes empty for 90 percent of the year? Maybe you would, sounds a little selfish to me. Wake up. Mind your own business"
Let's break this Pacaso Realtor's comments down:
1) To neighbors living next door to Pacaso it is just like an AirBnB with a constant turnover of anonymous guests coming to vacation
2) Unlike Short Term Rentals, there are no regulations and no recourse for neighbors
3) Property tax DOES NOT get reassessed when the LLC shareholders sell/buy. Only if more than 50% changes at the very same time
4) Most of the homes they have been purchasing were filled with full time owners
5) The selfish part is that we are getting in the way of your commissions?

What would Pablo Picasso have to say about the use of his name for a company that uses misinformation/bullying tactics as displayed in California?
