Is your mind, heart, and attitude
in need of a little spring cleaning?

Spring Cleaning Goes Beyond Clutter

As the weather gets warmer, the yearly "spring cleaning" is around the corner. But did you know that it can have a big impact on your mental health and your spiritual life?

Life is messy and rough most days, but having a clean space helps reduce the clutter in our minds and hearts. Cleaning out your room, or kitchen, or even your office, can lead to a clearer thinking process. Not having to worry about everything being out in the open and having all of the extra clutter either thrown out or put in its right space, will leave you feeling better than you imagined.

Having a clear mind is important to our mental health, as it reduces clutter and stress in our minds. But it also benefits our spiritual life. It is easier to grab time in your Bible, to make room at the dining room table for a family devotion, or to be still for a few minutes at work just to pray. When the mess is gone, we have more space for time with Jesus.

The resources below should help you get a little "spring cleaning" in and boost your mental and spiritual health!

Scripture & Prayer Prompts

As we look through and clean out our things, there is nothing more appropriate prayer to the One who has given us all good things!

  • Give prayers of thanksgiving to God for the things He has given you. It may look like clutter, but each item has the potential to be used well.
  • Ask for God's wisdom in handling your resources well, including your home, your workspace, and the things in them.
  • Seek God's clarity and purposes in how you prioritize your time during this next season of life.
  • When you are cleaning, pray for the people who are impacted by that chore. Who wears the clothes you fold? Who is served by the work you do at your computer? Who eats at your messy kitchen table? Pray for these people.
