Hellllllo riders!

Good morning to all our fellow adventure-seekers out there! Apologies for the delay in keeping everyone in the loop with the latest here at Ecuador Freedom, we’re the busiest we’ve been in years doing everyday normal stuff like, ya know, riding motorcycles through the Amazon rainforest and carving through picturesque sweepers in the Andes Mountains.

The coastline is warm, the mountains are cool, and the views are as epic as ever, but if you need a few more reasons to come ride with us here in South America, here are a few friendly reminders:

  • Ecuador is officially greeting travelers with open arms. Covid levels have plummeted over the past few months, and as a result, there’s no vaccine requirement for travel into the country as of February 11th, 2022.
  • The Ecuadorian government under President Lasso is taking active steps to increase competition between airlines and the increase the number and frequency of flights into Ecuador, which is resulting in dropping airfares, despite the rise in oil prices. If you haven't searched recently, you should look now.  We've seen flights to the USA for about $315 recently.
  • Our new rental bikes for 2022 are rolling in, and we’re having a blast putting them through their paces. We’re stoked to share that we’ve officially added another Triumph Tiger 900 Rally, and a Triumph Tiger 850 Sport to our fleet, and believe it or not, we’ve even managed to wrangle the new Husqvarna Norden 901, which has quickly become the most elusive new adventure motorcycle on the planet.  And even more are on their way as we update our fleet with exciting new models.

The Latest News, Straight Out Of Quito

When we’re not out riding motorcycles with you all, believe it or not, we spend our waking hours ranting and raving about them to whoever will listen. That’s called dedication. Here are the latest dispatches from the Freedom Ecuador Office/Lounge in home sweet Quito, Ecuador:

We hope to see you in Ecuador soon!

Wanna get paid to come ride motorcycles in Ecuador?

No, we’re not trying to sell you a timeshare. We’re talking about using Shappi, an app for your smartphone that links travelers up with Ecuadorian locals who need consumer goods from the US brought over into the country. It’s all completely legal, and all you have to do is dedicate a little space in your luggage to things like sneakers, electronics, vitamins etc. It’s quite possibly the easiest $200+ you’ll ever make, which saves you money on travel (or gives you that much more to spend on tequila and riding gear). Here’s how it works

Third party booking sites are THE WORST.

Can you tell we’re passionate about this one? Unsuspecting riders think they’re getting a smoking deal when booking a motorcycle tour through third-party sites, but did you know you may get a whole lot less than you bargained for when you go through a middle man? In this article, we break down how low standards for safety, customer service, and overall quality make third-party booking sights an outright liability for your next two-wheeled vacation.

A satellite communicator belongs on every ADV trip.

You wouldn’t go on an epic adventure ride without your tools, tire repair goodies, and first aid, right? Well, we’re of the opinion that any time you’re venturing into unknown territory, a sat com is just as essential as a spare tube and drinking water. Garmin’s inReach mini is currently our go-to sat com of choice, and there’s good reason for that, too.

Adventure tours can be luxury tours, too.

For some folks, roughing it in the dirt and cowboy camping under the stars is the only way to go. For the rest of us, there’s nothing like a plush hotel, a fresh-cooked meal, a cold adult beverage, and a warm fire to end a long day on the open road. That’s why we offer luxury motorcycle tours as well, and there’s no better way to combine plush accommodations with unforgettable experiences. Get all the details here

We’ve upgraded our entire fleet with the best GPS on the market

We log thousands upon untold thousands of miles every year here at Ecuador Freedom, and as you might suspect, having good navigation equipment plays a huge part in that. That’s why we’ve decided to upgrade our fleet to the best motorcycle GPS in the business, the Garmin zümo XT. We’ve tested pretty much every GPS on the market at this point, and the zümo XT was an easy choice thanks to it’s top-notch navigation, life-saving safety features, big ol’ handsome color display, and seamless compatibility with the Garmin inReach satellite com system. If you want to learn more about why the Zumo XT kicks so much ass (or how you can score one with a $100 discount), check out our article here.

Ecuador Freedom in the Media:
Octane with Martin Horik

We've been featured in two episodes of the popular Quebecer TV show, Octane with Martin Horik.  We rode with Martin and a small group of riders back in September and filmed two episodes of riding in Ecuador.  Even if you don't understand French, you will love the visuals in these two episodes.  The episodes appeared on the Canadian cable TV channel, RDS nationwide back in March.

We had such a great time! We are looking forward to welcoming Martin back to film more episodes in the future.

You can view episodes on Youtube.  Click here for Episode 1 with Ecuador Freedom.  Click here for Episode 2 with Ecuador Freedom.
