The Adventure Continues

“I don’t want you to travel overseas.”

That’s what the cardiologist said. She didn’t want me to have a heart attack overseas where I might not be able to get immediate help.

Wha…?

Irregular heartbeats. Those were the culprits. Apparently years of irregular heartbeats had weakened my heart enough that I was at risk of having a heart “event”.

We scheduled a heart catherization to see if there were any blockages. If so, maybe we could fix it with a stent. If we couldn’t fix it with a stent, then we would have to discuss other options i.e. heart surgery.

The procedure was Monday morning. They prepped me early in the morning and took me in to the Cath room at 8 AM. They found no blockage! I’m still waiting for them to thank me for helping them practice medicine.

Now the course of action is to give me some medicine that’s supposed to strengthen my heart by eliminating the irregular heartbeats.

International travel is an option again! This is good because it looks like countries are starting to open up. We hope to get one or two trips in by the end of the year.

In the meantime, there is always Teams and Zoom, which keep us busy getting ready for a big missionary conference this summer (Refresh 22). This is when we bring our missionaries home for a week of training and refreshing.

We are also processing new missionaries into GlobalGrace Fellowship because people are still willing to go to a world in need of Christ. So, although travel has been limited the last few years, the workload has increased in other ways.

Sure glad my heart is still in it.

Have a great Easter!

Here is the man looking “great” after a successful procedure.
