Volunteer Opportunities

Sap Collection:
We will be collecting sap on Monday, April 18 starting at 2 pm. Expect some combination of snow, ice, and mud. Be sure to wear boots and bring a water bottle! No need to let us know if you are coming or not.

This website has a lot of good information on what to expect when volunteering to collect sap.

Driving to the Sugar Shack:
On Monday, you are welcome to drive out to the sugar shack but please know it will be very muddy around the parking areas. Only drive out if you trust your vehicle in those conditions. You can always park at the top of the gravel hill (after the last right hand turn to the sugar shack) and walk the last 1/4 mile.

Volunteer Hours:
Please be sure to record your volunteer hours each time you help out at the sugar shack. Please use this form to submit your hours. At the end of the year we total up all the hours and thank everyone very 'sweetly' ;). Families and couples are welcome to record hours together or separately, please see the form for an example.

Questions? Please contact John Geissler (jgeissler001@csbsju.edu) .

See you in the sugar bush!
Sarah
