MORE ON WIND POWER
I’ve mentioned in recent updates that there has been more activity for and against wind power recently, and coming up.  I have a few of other items to call to your attention.
  • One is that US Wind has committed to more studies of how turbines could affect the migratory patterns of birds, fish, and sea mammals.  See the Ocean City Today article at link.
  • Another is that an Ørsted turbine broke up off Denmark.  Google it for more information, but this 2013 model at the Anholt wind farm has problems.  Expect to hear more.  An article in Offshorewind.biz had some information (link).  That website has other information on wind power that might answer an number of questions for the curious.
  • A third is that the Coastal Point published an article (link) highlighting a recent the oceana.org report.
Earlier I had mentioned:
  • The Wind Power forum set for May 20 at Indian River H.S. Read more about the meeting at meeting (pdf or docx).  See also Maryland Coast Dispatch article by Bethany Hooper “Fenwick Seeks Exclusion Zone For Offshore Wind Projects” (link).
  • And, that the recording of the March 22 Wind Power presentation was available from the Sussex LWV at link.
