We’ll start again with the river, this time in Muscatine, Iowa where Terry Eagle and John Koch are harnessing the power of the natural resources—mussels and marshland—to develop a system for cleaner water. Next we’ll travel north to Bemidji, Minnesota where a conversation with Ann Skoe and Kathryn Gonzalez revealed powerful climate concerns in this place indelibly connected to water and indigenous communities. Just down the road in Bena, Minnesota, Ojibwe beadwork artist Mel Losh tells the story of his craft and community, a living tradition to be furthered. And finally still in Minnesota the late Michael Bischoff shares his deep love and commitment to the river, a storyteller in his own right who invites us all to find our own place and give it our attention.
