Hello, <<First Name>>.

We are reaching out to our PAL facilitators.

We have received emails from some of you regarding an “opportunity” to help with an outreach article for a recovery center. We appreciate you reaching out to us for clarification on this request. On the surface it appears like a typical request, but this is a Phishing SCAM. The person or persons sending this are not legitimately working to promote PAL and their motives are unknown.  If you receive a request asking you to do an article or be interviewed for an article for a recovery center that you were not personally involved in setting up, then be very wary and reach out to the source (not the person emailing you) and or simply block the sender.

Occasionally, we receive emails from people who send out requests like this for phishing purposes. Once you respond, they know they have a legitimate email and could sell it to other entities and or use it for other illegitimate purposes.  It is sad this has become such a norm but to protect your email it is best to block these emails or if you think there is any chance it is legitimate please check with us in the office.

Please note if it is something sanctioned by PAL, we will reach out to you in advance. Thank you for all that you are doing to support PAL.
