Dear Families:

On Friday April 22nd, 2022, North Junior High is allowing students to participate in National Day of Silence (DOS). DOS is a student-led day of action on which those who support making anti-LGBT bullying and harassment unacceptable in schools participate in events to recognize and protest the discrimination and harassment – in effect, the silencing – experienced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students and their allies.  Students who participate in DOS often take a vow of silence during the school day, handing out “speaking cards”, which explain the reason for their silence. If this is something your student in interested in, let them know they can reach out to Ms. Gaida for questions (jeana.gaida@isd742.org).

Student Social Media Use

Parents please take some time again to review the resources shared below and have a candid discussion with your student regarding his or her use of social media.  It will take a consistent and continuing partnership between home and school to ensure that our students are practicing accountability, respect, and empathy when engaging in online communication and information sharing.
